Help Reach, Inform, and Teach Females of All Ages

This web site was created because I felt a need to reach, inform, and teach females of all ages about the importance of good health and regularly-scheduled exams. The main focus will be on the gynecological exam, also known to some as a pap smear (even though that is only one portion of the exam), and the reasons why every female should have a yearly pap smear, what the gynecological exam consists of, and the possible results of the exam.

I was first "moved" by this subject when I realized that two very close and special friends of mine, ages 20 and 23, had never had a gynelogical exam. My mother took me to the doctor at age 18 (I am now 25) to get my first pap smear, and made sure I went back yearly. It never occurred to me that so many girls, young adults, and women don't know, or even understand, the importance of a gynecological exam. Not to mention, that these exams should be scheduled yearly starting at about ages 16 to 18, or as soon as you are sexually active.

I began to ask my circle of friends about this issue, and was shocked to find out that most of my friends have never had one, or only had one once and were too scared to go back for another exam. That is so foolish, I thought to myself. I get them every year and know that they are vital to my existence. I even met a 40-year-old woman who has only had one pap smear in her entire life. That is extremely dangerous!

Hence, the reason for this web site. My goal is to reach, inform, and teach as many females around the world as possible about the importance of gynelogical exams, and to assure them that the benefits of a pap smear far outweigh the fears and misconceptions relted to them. Please note that I am certainly NOT an expert or professional in the medical field, just a concerned female living in Southern California. I would greatly appreciate it if you could pass this web site address to your friends to help spread the word.

Thank you for your support.
